Current Courses
I currently teach the following courses at DTU:
02809 UX Design Prototyping
This course is meant to enable students to apply lean prototyping methods for UX design of personalized user interfaces, while selectng appropriate tools, methods and designs for the tasks at hand
The course is focused on development of functional UX design prototypes that combine multiple mobile devices and interfaces, from flat UI to dialog and voice based design patterns.
It uses lean methods based on pain driven design, hierarchical user story mapping, multidevice design patterns and microinteractions system design, as well as rapid prototyping combining both industry proven and novel tools and methods.
The course provides students with a systematic foundation and practical experience in designing UX prototype designs, which can also later be applied to “next generation” interfaces in other domains, subsequently addressed in 02266 “User Experience Engineering”.
02266 User Experience Engineering
Building on a briefly introduced foundation, this course guides students through project-driven hands-on applications of lean methods to UX design of e.g. “cognitive computing” interfaces, combining business canvas modeling with hierarchical user story mapping as a basis for agile development and validation of prototypes as minimum viable products (MVP).
The course is focused on development of UX design prototypes of next generation interfaces like “cognitive computing” incorporating biometric data related to e.g. heart rate, eye tracking or emotional responses based on facial gestures.
The methods also forming the foundation of 02809 “UX Design Prototyping” are applied more widely into designs of “next generation” UX prototypes, where new and unfamiliar challenges needs to be modelled and engineered in a systematic way.
